PLS@XPATS APPLICATION
1. IMMIGRATION FACILITIES

    PLS@XPATS is a permission to perform emergency and critical professional task / work for a maximum period of 30 days on social visit pass. Please note that PLS@XPATS is not a work pass but a social visit pass that allow foreign professional to work.     This facility is applicable within Peninsular Malaysia and Federal Territory of Labuan ONLY.

2. GUIDELINE AND APPLICATION FOR PLS@XPATS
  • Application should be made by the EMPLOYER/COMPANY.
  • Please be informed that this facility is only applicable to emergency cases that you may refer below.
  • The submission must be made the latest by five (5) working days prior to the applicant's departure date into Malaysia. The application will be processed within one (1) working day after an application with complete documents have been submitted.
  • For any application that has been submitted or require entry during the weekend, please email immediately to plsxpat.esd@imi.gov.my upon your application submission.
  • Examples for cases that eligible for this facility include:
    • Oil and gas accidents/incidents that require immediate care and attention by experts from overseas.
    • Malfunctions in IT industries; e.g server malfunctioning / server failure.
    • Power plants/stations accidents/ incidents that require immediate care and attention by experts from overseas.
    • Malfunctions of machineries/conveyors/equipment in manufacturing factories/plants that is disrupting the whole production line.
  • Application to be made through online https://mtp.imi.gov.my/plsXpats.
  • Applicant are required to provide the following documents :-
    • Official application/invitation letter from employer/company;
    • All pages of the applicant’s passport (validity period SIX(6) MONTHS and above);
    • SSM e-info;
    • Working schedule & Job description;
    • Confirmed flight ticket (ETA & ETD);
    • Other relevant documents (if any);
      • All the documents must be uploaded in pdf format, not exceeding 250kb each.
  • Applicants must be outside of Malaysia (abroad) when the application is made by the employer/company.
  • The application will be REJECTED if the employer/company fails to provide all the required as per stated documents above.

3. BEFORE DEPARTURE INTO MALAYSIA
  • For citizens of a country who require to apply visa prior to entry to Malaysia, Visa Without Reference (VTR) application can be made online via https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my for electronic visa (eVISA); OR
  • Please obtain the Visa Without Reference (VTR) at the Embassy / High Commission/ Consulate General of Malaysia.
  • If the applicant fails to obtain visa prior entry to Malaysia, his/her entry will be denied and repatriated.
  • The applicant is not allowed to bring their dependents.

4. ARRIVAL IN MALAYSIA

Upon arrival in Malaysia, applicant needs to comply to the following procedures :-

  • The applicant must present an original passport and PLS@XPATS approval during immigration clearance at Point of Entry;
  • Entry to Malaysia is subjected to the current Immigration procedures, rules and regulations during immigration clearance at entry point. Failure to comply will be denied entry and repatriated.
  • Permitted Malaysia Entry Points:
    • The entry point is through authorized entry of Peninsular of Malaysia and Federal Territory of Labuan, except Sabah & Sarawak.


 IMPORTANT NOTE

  1. Entry into Malaysia is subject to approval and Immigration's vetting. The entry approval is not given automatically.
  2. Please note that this application is for EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL PROFESSIONAL TASK/WORK ONLY. For more information on PLS@XPATS please refer to https://www.imi.gov.my/index.php/faq_brjim/soalan-lazim-plsxpats/.
  3. Any error in information entered by employer/company cannot be amended and employer/company must re-submit a new application.
  4. Effective 18 July 2024, the processing charter is revised from three (3) working days to one (1) working day upon complete document submission.
  5. Application status can be checked online via https://mtp.imi.gov.my/plsXpats/semakan.
  6. For citizens of a country who require to apply visa prior to entry to Malaysia, Visa Without Reference (VTR) application can be made online via https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my for electronic visa (eVISA).
  7. Any false reports / statements / representations are an offence under section 56(1)(f) Immigration Act 1959/63 and is punishable with a fine amounting to no more than RM 10,000.00 or imprisonment of no more than five (5) years, or both.

  8. *Any changes of the decisions are subject to the relevant Laws and Authorities' directive.
